About the Honors Program
The Office of the New Mexico Office Attorney General is committed to recruiting the highest quality candidates who exemplify the values of integrity, excellence and service. We have a commitment to honesty, ethics, and transparency in all actions and decisions. We strive for the highest level of professionalism and expertise in all aspects of our work. And we have a strong dedication to serving the public interest and prioritizing the well-being of the community – especially the interests of those least capable of defending themselves.
To advance our wide-ranging mission and recruit exceptional new attorneys to our team, the Office has established an Honors Program that is open to recent law school graduates or those graduating law school by Spring 2024. We encourage applications from those who are intellectually curious and passionate about public service, in alignment with our mission to promote good government, safeguard the public interest, and protect vulnerable members of our community, through dedicated and professional advocacy. The Office is most interested in candidates who have strong writing skills; have the confidence and ability to ask good and thoughtful questions; are eager to engage; and have a strong academic record (i.e., a strong GPA or show a steady improvement of grades during law school).
