“Employees and elected officials have made my office aware of financial mismanagement issues and even more concerning, the extreme turnover, laying off and retaliation from FCCH leadership towards their providers,” said AG Torrez. “My office stands ready to work with the Department of Health to pursue the necessary actions to fix this institution. This is not an effort to shut down this healthcare organization. Rather, this is an effort to correct their financial ignorance, reform leadership, and improve the culture for employees to ensure that the 50,000 patients at FCCH continue to receive critical, comprehensive healthcare services.”
“Our organization was called into action to advocate on behalf of providers of First Choice Community Healthcare and the 50,000 patients they serve,” said C. First Choice is an important community resource and its providers deserve a management structure that will allow them to continue their mission of providing health care access to New Mexico’s underserved.”
