Albuquerque, NM – This afternoon, Thomas Dolphus was sentenced by Judge Nakamura in the Second Judicial District Court to 13.5 years of incarceration followed by a period of 5-20 years indeterminate probation and parole. Dolphus was convicted of two counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Manufacture) and one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession) after a bench trial in May 2015. The Office of the Attorney General prosecuted the case. The defendant must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his natural life. Dolphus had in his possession child pornography involving eight year-olds, toddlers and even infants.
“We only get one shot at protecting our children and we will continue to aggressively prosecute high risk criminals who hurt New Mexico children and families,” said Attorney General Hector Balderas.
