Attorney General Urges Senate Finance Committee to Pass HB 65 to Close Child Exploitation Loopholes in order to Protect all New Mexico Children

Santa Fe, NM – This afternoon, Attorney General Hector Balderas is urging members of the Senate Finance Committee to pass HB 65 to close child exploitation loopholes in order to protect all New Mexico children. The Senate Finance Committee is expected to hear the the bill tomorrow morning. In anticipation of the hearing, Balderas issued the following statement:

“We should not carve out exceptions for any age group, or any activity, particularly that which weakens protections for 15-18 year-olds who are among the most vulnerable to predators and among the most impressionable populations in our state.”
