Farmington, NM – Today, Bobby Willis plead no contest to second-degree felony embezzlement and third-degree felony embezzlement charges in Farmington District Court. The court ordered that a sentencing setting would be scheduled within 60 days over the Office of the Attorney General’s objection to impose 12 years of incarceration immediately after the plea was entered. Under the agreement, Willis faces up to 12 years of incarceration and must make restitution to victims, which he cannot discharge in bankruptcy in addition to court ordered fines.

“Criminals who prey on New Mexico businesses and families will be held accountable for stripping the wealth out of our communities,” said Attorney General Hector Balderas.

The court refused to release any part of Willis’ $250,000 bond. Willis is also facing federal wirefraud charges. A trial in that matter is set in June.
