Santa Fe, NM – New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas released the following statement today in response to the Senate’s confirmation of Loretta Lynch as Attorney General of the United States:
“I am pleased that the U.S. Senate confirmed an independent, tough as nails, career prosecutor as our nation’s Attorney General. Being the first African American woman to become Attorney General is not just historic, it continues the diversity of a U.S. Department of Justice that is serving and protecting an increasingly diverse nation. New Mexico will continue to strengthen its partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice, and I look forward to working with Attorney General Lynch.”
