Albuquerque, NM – This afternoon, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that David Rael was convicted for possessing, distributing, and manufacturing child pornography. An investigation by the Office of the Attorney General and the Los Alamos Police Department revealed that Rael was in possession of several images and videos containing the sexual exploitation of children.
“Our number one priority is to protect children from being exploited and we will continue to investigate and prosecute dangerous individuals who seek to harm children,” said Attorney General Balderas. “I want to thank the Los Alamos Police Department and the investigators and prosecutors in my office who worked tirelessly to bring justice for the victims of these crimes.”
Rael was taken into custody immediately after the verdict. He will be sentenced at a later date. Jason Yamato and Celia Munoz prosecuted the case on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General.
