ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas announces that Conrado Castro was sentenced to 26 years with 20 years of the sentence suspended by Second Judicial District Court Judge Bruce Fox. Castro will serve six years in the Department of Corrections, and is obligated to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Castro sexually molested his 13-year-old sister-in-law on multiple occasions and was also downloading and collecting child pornography. He will serve an indeterminate amount of probation between 5-20 years upon release.

“Children should feel safe and protected in their homes, and the heinous actions of those that prey on our innocent children should have serious consequences,” said Attorney General Balderas.

This case was investigated by the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General, Albuquerque Police Department, and CYFD. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Bryan McKay.
