ALBUQUERQUE, NM—Today, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that Jerrell
G. Bundy was sentenced to the New Mexico Department of Corrections for Possession
of Child Sexual Abuse Material (“CSAM”). Bundy will serve three years in prison followed
by five years on supervised probation, one year of parole, and will be required to register
as a sex offender.
“This case sends an important message that child victims of sexual exploitation can and
will receive justice in New Mexico” said Attorney General Balderas. “Every time an image
or video of child sexual abuse is viewed or downloaded, that child is re-victimized; and
when it happens in this State, we will always pursue accountability.”
According to court documents, as well as evidence and expert testimony admitted during
the sentencing hearing, Bundy downloaded, viewed, and collected nearly 8,000 files
depicting child sexual abuse from 2010 until 2017.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorneys General Van Snow and Jason Wallace.
