The Financial Control Division is responsible for approving, monitoring, and controlling the accounting methods and procedures necessary to ensure all financial transactions comply with state laws, regulations, and best practices. Furthermore, the Division is responsible for overseeing and administering the budget for the Office of the Attorney General, which includes ensuring that sufficient cash and budget are available prior to the commitment of public funds, and determining the legality of and authority for proposed expenditures. The Division also ensures that the Agency is compliant with the State Procurement Code and that purchases are transparent and cost-effective. Lastly, the Division works closely with other divisions within the Office of the Attorney General to identify grant funding sources that support the Office’s mission and vision.
