The Training and Professional Development Division is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of training programs within a diverse organization.  The Division is also responsible for building solid cross-functional relationships within the agency.  The Division is responsible for the following areas:

  • Facilitate and track continuing education training;
  • Provide leadership development education;
  • Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurement, and cost management;
  • Conduct on-boarding and orientation process;
  • Evaluate needs of agency and plan training programs accordingly;
  • Assist with the development of strategic plans;
  • Plan and facilitate activities and events, material production and distribution; and
  • Provide the agency with classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

This Division also manages the employee wellness program to promote and support the health, safety and well-being of its employees. Some components of the employee wellness program include:

  • A Wellness newsletter;
  • Workshops on wellness issues;
  • Walking/running groups;
  • Health Fairs;
  • Physical activity breaks;
  • Fitness classes; and
  • Smoking cessation classes.
